Clemmons Racing was established in 2001. Wade Clemmons races on a ¼ mile semi-banked oval track at Crown Point Speedway. Wade started racing midway through the 2000 season with a 1986 Olds Cutlass. Wade and a few close friends built the car. The first time out, the car had a 305 ci. small block chevy motor. He was trying to get some seat time in his car. It took till the last race of the year before he made it into the feature race.
Over the winter of 2001-02, Clemmons Racing revamped the race car. Duane Waldrop from Waldrop Racing built a 383 ci small block chevy motor for the 86 olds. Bob McLain did all the chassie scaling. Clemmons Racing had a good year finishing 12th in the points race out of 61 cars.
Clemmons Racing is gearing up for the 2003 season. Putting a freshly rebuilt 383 ci. engine into the 86 olds. Also looking at getting a new power-glide transmission with a stall. Please keep checking back through out the season to see how Clemmons Racing is doing in the points chase. He's looking to get a top five-in points.
